Corporate Securities Division Opened by RW Smith in Dallas

BELLEVUE, Wash. & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Interdealer broker RW Smith & Associates, Inc. (www.rwsbroker.com) today announced it has expanded into the corporate securities market and opened an office in the Dallas area to support the growth into this asset class, according to Paige Pierce, CEO.
Ms. Pierce also announced that Chad Cody and Emory Jackson, formerly with 1st Global Capital in Dallas, have been hired to head RW Smith’s Corporate Securities division. Mr. Cody joins RW Smith as Senior VP and Regional Director, Fixed Income, and Mr. Jackson as VP, Fixed Income.
According to Ms. Pierce, “For 25 years RW Smith has been a leader in the interdealer municipal securities market acting as a municipal securities broker’s broker.
“Since our founding when we chose to headquarter the company in Seattle and position RW Smith as a bridge between regional knowledge and Wall Street expertise, we have remained committed to being responsive to the evolving needs of our clients and to providing access and pricing transparency to all secondary market participants.
“In recent months as the markets have transitioned rapidly, we have received numerous requests to expand our services into all fixed income products. To better meet the needs of our clients and to open new avenues of growth for RW Smith, the time has come to expand our model to include all fixed income products,” she said.
According to Ms. Pierce, RW Smith is now offering corporate bonds, and it will proceed with adding asset classes in the upcoming months to its portfolio of brokering, including CDs, agencies, mortgage-backed securities and more.
She added, “While working on our product line expansions, we are simultaneously performing a complete overhaul of our website and online trading system in an effort to better serve our growing list of customers.
“Our expansion into the corporate market is overdue, but with Chad Cody and Emory Jackson, we have the right team in place to lead this effort,” said Ms. Pierce.
At 1st Global, Mr. Cody most recently served as Fixed Income Director, where he led the team in designing ways to drive profits and deliver a high quality experience to a sales force of 1200 advisors nationwide. Previously, he held the position of Senior Fixed Income Trader. Before joining 1st Global, he was a Compliance Representative at Securities America. He also worked at Fidelity Investments as a Fixed Income Trader and at Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor. He is a 2001 graduate of Texas Christian University.
Mr. Jackson also worked at 1st Global, where he served as Fixed Income Trader. Previously, he worked at Arbor Research and Trading in Barrington, Ill., in Fixed Income Trading and Sales, and prior to this, he was a Fixed Income Trader at Edward Jones and Co. in St. Louis. Mr. Jackson has a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University and is a 1993 graduate of William Jewel College.
